Our mission is to promote individual and team growth through challenging and fun adventure activities. We believe teams achieve maximum strength and greater results through shared experience in and out of the workplace. We offer customized, meaningful events that achieve desired outcomes.

Utilizing our skills in outdoor adventure activities and the latest research and literature on business, teams and individual leadership development we will work with you to craft a custom event to meet your needs.
We have the knowledge necessary to make your program great! Our network of facilitators and program staff has experience working with international corporations, large and small non-profits, schools and youth programs.

Owner Profile:Jerritt Johnston has 17 years experience in outdoor, experiential education and leadership development. He has an M.A. in Education and holds a Minnesota teaching license in secondary social studies. He has a strong background in working with diverse populations and creating meaningful experiences with “real world” relevance.
He is an active adventure racer, orienteer and cross-country ski racer. He loves being in the outdoors in all seasons and all types of weather. His passion is introducing people to new outdoor experiences and supporting individual and team growth through adventure activities.
True North Adventures is the confluence of Jerritt’s professional experience developing and delivering leadership programs and his passion for the outdoors. His work includes a navigation challenge for over 350 MBA students at the University of Virginia. He also created a Disaster Relief simulation for 125 high school leaders from around the world in the mountains of California. Feel free to ask him about other programs he's created and clients he’s worked with in nearly 20 years of creating challenges for teams.
Jerritt lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Molly, and two young children. As parents they have a new found joy in introducing their children to outdoor experiences. On weekends you can find them towing a bike trailer, sporting a child-laden backpack or inspecting the intricacies of a nearby mud puddle.
